Five FDA-Approved Neuromodulators
Honest Recommendations, Natural Results

The Benefits of Botox & Neuromodulators
Tox injections are one of the most versatile treatments in aesthetic medicine. They can treat multiple areas across the face and neck, and the benefits go beyond what most people expect:
- Softens forehead lines, frown lines (11s), and crow’s feet for a rested, relaxed look
- Provides a subtle lift in the brows without surgery
- Creates a fuller upper lip with a lip flip, no filler needed
- Slims the jawline and relieves TMJ, clenching, and grinding
- Smooths chin dimpling and softens a downturned smile
- Tightens and refines the neck with a Nefertiti lift
- Prevents new wrinkles from setting in with consistent treatment
- Requires no downtime, and most appointments take 15 to 30 minutes
At Tox & Skin Co., we tailor every treatment to how your face actually moves, so your results look natural and hold up long term.
Your Botox Questions, Answered
Most clients see results that last three to four months, though this can vary depending on the treatment area and your individual metabolism. The key to lasting results is consistency. When you stay on a regular treatment schedule (every three to four months), your muscles retrain over time, and results start to hold longer between visits.
All five neuromodulators are priced the same:
- Regular price: $12 per unit
- Tox & Skin Society Members: $10.20 per unit (15% off)
There are no upcharges based on brand. The number of units you need depends on the treatment area and your anatomy. For example, forehead lines typically require 10 to 20 units, while jawline slimming can require 50 or more. We go over exact dosing and cost during your Tox & Skin Experience, existing client appointment, or your free aesthetic assessment, so there are never any surprises.
All five neuromodulators work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause lines and wrinkles, but they differ in formulation, onset time, and how they spread. Here’s a quick breakdown:
- Dysport: Spreads a bit more than Botox, which can be an advantage for larger areas like the forehead.
- Daxxify: The newest option on the market, peptide-powered, and a great fit for clients looking to try something different.
- Jeuveau: Often called “Newtox,” designed specifically for cosmetic use with results comparable to Botox.
- Xeomin: A “naked” neurotoxin with no accessory proteins, which can be a good fit for clients who’ve built up resistance to other brands.
- Botox: The most well-known option. Reliable, predictable, great for most treatment areas.
We’ll help determine the best product based on your anatomy, treatment history, and how your body has responded to previous treatments.
Forehead dosing typically ranges from 10 to 20 units, but the exact number depends on your muscle strength, movement patterns, and how much correction you want. Other common treatment areas and their typical unit ranges include:
- Frown lines (11s): 20 to 40 units
- Crow’s feet: 12 to 30 units per side
- Lip flip: 6 to 10 units
- Jawline/TMJ: 25 to 50 units per side
We always dose conservatively at first and adjust from there based on how your body responds.
A lip flip uses a small amount of tox (typically 6 to 10 units) to relax the muscle along the upper lip, allowing it to gently roll outward for a subtly fuller look. It doesn’t add volume the way filler does; it just lets more of your natural lip show.
Here’s how they compare:
- Lip flip: Uses tox, no added volume, subtle enhancement, lasts 2.5 to 3 months, great starting point if you’re not ready for filler.
- Lip filler: A hyaluronic acid-based gel that adds volume and shape, lasts 12 to 18 months depending on your metabolism.
A lip flip is included in a lip filler treatment if wanted or needed.
It comes down to three things: the right product, the right dosing, and a provider who knows when to say no.
We don’t use templates or one-size-fits-all protocols. Every treatment is based on your specific facial anatomy, your muscle movement patterns, and the results you’re looking for. We dose appropriately and build from there; we can always do a dose adjustment at a follow-up visit if needed.
If you come in asking for something that won’t look right on your face, we’ll be honest about that. We’d rather turn down a treatment than deliver a result that doesn’t hold up.
